Sue Sullivan joins team at Reliance Risk New Zealand
March 13, 2024

Venue and event risk management consultancy Reliance Risk has announced the appointment of Sue Sullivan to its New Zealand business in a sales and consultancy role.

With a background of over 30 years in tourism and events, Sullivan has held management and leadership roles in transport, tourism attractions and activities, adventure tourism, business events, incentives and conferences.

Commenting on her new role, Sullivan (pictured) advised "Reliance Risk has been one of, if not the leading risk consultancy to the venues, events and tourism industries over the last 17 years both in Australia and New Zealand.

“I welcome the opportunity to work with Reliance's experts, including Adam Lynch here in New Zealand. I bring my own experience of event risk management along with tourism risk management from an operator's perspective and look forward to the year ahead.”

Wayne Middleton, joint owner of Reliance Risk NZ says he worked with Sullivan for a several years in her role as Chief Executive of CINZ (now BEIA - Business Events Incentives Aotearoa) in the development of the risk management plans with a focus on the MEETINGS trade exhibition after the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 created significant changes to the landscape in New Zealand.

Middleton explains "Sue embraced the changes and was at the forefront in delivering this to the BEIA members and wider industry. We welcome her to the team, with her experience across many industries and commitment to customer service.”

With Sullivan’s broad experience including a strong commitment to health and safety at all levels, with a real focus on the safety of people, Sullivan added “people including clients, staff and guests are at the heart of what we do. Without people, we have no business.

“Sue has proven experience in business's strategy and growth, process, change management and has an extremely strong client focus.”
